Chicks with Scripts is a community of women television writers – from baby and yet-to-staff writers to those in writers’ rooms to show creators.
Founded in 2010 by Eva Taylor, a former lawyer who is now a TV writer and NBC Writers on the Verge alum, Chicks with Scripts is a community and social group in which women television writers are brought together to socialize, connect, learn, get inspired, and support each other in a world where women only make up a dismal percentage of television writing staffs.
In addition to our monthly mixers, past events have included speed networking with TV Producers, panels with Development Executives and Showrunners, a visit to Technicolor to learn about the post-production process, amazing fellowship panels with previous TV fellows at ABC, NBC, CBS, Warner Bros, an afternoon at Malibu Wines, and more. You will also have the opportunity to host your own CWS outing or panel; our board loves to work with members who want to deepen their involvement.
Membership is free. Once you’re a member, you’ll receive invites to our mixers, events, and panels and access to our private Facebook groups. You’ll have the ability to form or join a writers’ group composed of other CWS members, as well as apply for our Jobs Connect Program.
