Hometown: New York, New York
Born and raised in New York City, Madelynn Amalfitano was always a storyteller, but those early tales usually involved explaining why she missed third period gym class, or how that dent ended up in the front fender of her dad’s car. She eventually found a more productive outlet for her creativity as a journalist in Los Angeles, where she covered the arts and culture for publications like the LA Weekly, and as a producer for KCRW’s news programs Which Way LA? and To The Point. After receiving her MFA in film from Columbia University, Madelynn returned to Los Angeles, working first in development at AMC, and then as support staff on several TV series, including Lodge 49. She is currently working on an original television pilot and writing about herself in the third person.
